Graffiti And Street Art To Discover in Bangkok

April 28, 2023
Posted by: Hotels G

Hidden amongst the majestic temples and rich culture, lies the beating heart of a contemporary soul of creativity that can be found on the streets of Bangkok.

In-between visiting the many street stalls that make up Bangkok’s exciting food scene, and exploring the hallowed halls of some of the world’s most magnificent temples - any traveller keen on discovering every corner of the city’s vibrant culture should find their way through its colourful streets.

While street art may not have always been the focus of Bangkok’s art scene, it bloomed into popularity over the past few years - thanks to social media as well as international art events such as the Bukruk Urban Arts Festival.

The next time you find yourself exploring and looking to discover the more contemporary side of Bangkok, here are some of the most eye-catching graffiti and street art installations to check out.

Soi Charoenkrung 28

On this lane, you want to look out for three main masterpieces. Start from the beginning of the street, where Pukruk by Meubon can be found – featuring an extravagantly-dressed bird riding a unicycle. Underneath this painting is a contrasting black-and-white mural done by Korean artist Daehyun Kim, while another multicolored work by Romanian artist Raul Oprea Sebastian a.k.a Saddo can be found across the street.

Two main pieces stand out on this side street. The first being a truly eye-catching wall carving done by London-based Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto, a.k.a Vhils – as part of his ‘Scratching the Surface’ project, which takes front-and-centre of the front wall of the Embassy of Portugal. Another being an abstract stencil work by internationally-renowned Italian artists Sten and Lex, which take up the facade of a whole building.

Soi Charoenkrung 32

You won’t need to show up early to visit the walls of Soi Charoenkrung 32. During the day, the strip is mostly occupied by street vendors, with the art only revealed after 3pm onwards. The former site of the 10-day Bukruk Urban Arts Festival, Soi Charoenkrung 32 is now filled with murals created by both Thai and international taggers. These works include the three-eyed kid by Alex Face, Kult’s portraits, the funky animals of Bonus TMC, and Lolay’s graphic spray-painted works.

Pathumwan Sky Walk

For artworks that prove “the sky’s the limit”, make your way along the skywalk connecting the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre (BACC), Siam Discovery, and MBK. Here, you’ll find mushroom-like installations that have been painted on by well-known local artists like JECK’s BKK, Yuree Kensaku, and Peerapong Limthamrong a.k.a P7

Saphan Taksin BTS Station

In 2016, nearly the entire length of the wall at the foot of the Saphan Taksin BTS station was painted over by Dutch artist Daan Botlek. Done specially for the Bukruk Festival, the piece was also named ‘Saphan Taksin’, featuring various body parts scattered against a cotton candy-pink background. If you were to stack each segment vertically, the body parts actually connect to each other.

San Chao Rong Kueak Alley

Despite it being a small alley, it’s one that really takes pride in its art – with each piece coming with its very own description. From large realism murals to full-scale pieces depicting Chinese culture in the neighbourhood, the alley offers nothing short of some of Bangkok’s most creative urban art pieces. This includes The Lion Care by Bonus TMC – inspired by lion dances performed in the local community and DR.CAS’s depiction of a sacred turtle – inspired by a festival where people pay respects to said turtle.

Song Wat Road

Songwat Bangkok Street Art

Cr. Tanisorn Vongsoontorn/Time Out Bangkok

Down this historic road, you’ll find three large-scale murals done by international artists. Upon entering the road from Wat Pathum Khongkah, you’re greeted by the sight of a pink mural by Romanian artist Aitch. Further down at a parking lot, there will be two giant artworks facing each other just overlooking the Chao Phraya River. On the left, Belgian graffiti artist Roa pays tribute to Thailand’s animal with a piece of two elephants, while the other side features blue bicycles done by Spanish artist Aryz

The best part of it all – is that these streets are all within easy reach of Pullman Bangkok Hotel G. So the next time you’re on holiday or staycation with us, know that you’re mere minutes away from soaking up every drop of culture Bangkok has to offer – both old and new.

Cheap Eats and Street Food Spots in Bangkok

September 6, 2022
Posted by: Hotels G

Eager to experience local street food and explore casual eateries on foot from Pullman Bangkok Hotel G? We are here to enlighten you on the best cheap eats around the hotel and further afar. Here’s our top 10 recommendations of where to feast on a budget.

Whether it’s your first time traveling to Bangkok, or you’re here to stay for a while, here are our favourite foodie spots, ranging from widely acclaimed street foods stalls that are within walking distance of Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, to longstanding culinary institutions where you can immerse yourself in the rich and vibrant culture and experience the unique pulse of Bangkok with the locals.

Why do we love Bangkok’s street food so much? On top of being cheap and convenient, it’s a great way to experience the local culture by trying delicious traditional homemade meals.

Whilst exploring Bangkok, you will come across plenty of street food stalls and small casual eateries. How to know if they are worth trying? Check how busy they are of course, but also, another good indicator is that they are frequented by locals mostly. Pro tip: most Thais tend to like their meals extremely spicy, so even if you think you can handle it, err on the side of caution and order your food with little or no spice.

Silom 10 Food Court

It’s safe to say that Thais love to eat, and when it comes to lunch, they usually head to a food court. If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, you may not find more locals in one place than at Silom 10 Food Court during lunch hour. One of the largest food courts in the Silom area, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, it gives you access to a huge selection of typical dishes.

Sortrel

One of the most popular eateries in the Sathorn district since the 2000s, this is one of the best places to enjoy a wide range of delicious Thai food at an affordable price. A large open space offers a relaxing atmosphere in the Beer Garden, where you can hear live acoustic music and find many Thai people after work.

Kha Mu Charoensang Silom

Located on Silom Road, in the alley opposite State Tower, Kha Mu Silom has been serving stewed pork shanks since 1959. What sets this store apart from hundreds of others is its melting, caramelized pork in a rich, aromatic Chinese herb sauce, served with their homemade spicy sauce and pickles. It’s also great value for money; you can get a full, tasty meal at pocket-friendly price. Within 15 minutes of the hotel, you can find this street food spot that was included in the Michelin Guide Bangkok in 2018 and 2019.

Thipsamai Padthai Pratoopee

Though it has become a famous Thai dish worldwide, Pad Thai actually has a fairly recent history. It was first created during World War II at a time when Thailand suffered a rice shortage. Due to the high cost of rice production, the prime minister encouraged people to eat noodles instead. Thipsamai Padthai Pratoopee is the oldest Pad Thai restaurant in Thailand and has earned its legendary reputation by serving up authentic, tasty Padthai ever since then. The long line of eager customers outside the door speaks for itself!

Jay Fai

By far the most acclaimed street food spot in Bangkok – the infamous Jay Fai, aka Supinya Junsuta, better known as Jay Fai, has found fame by receiving a Michelin star two years in a row in 2018 and 2019, but the spunky 70-plus-year-old continues to personally cook every dish at her stall in Bangkok. With her expert wok maneuver and her signature goggles, she has become a Bangkok legend and proudly continues what her father started 70 years ago. The top four dishes you can’t miss are: Crab Omelette, Drunken Noodles, Tom Yum Soup, and Yellow Crab Curry.

Somjai Boat Noodle

Established for 40 years, passing through 3 generations, Somjai Boat Noodle makes the best boat noodles and duck noodles. The name ‘boat noodle’ derives from the many food vendors who used to prepare and sell lunch from boats in the canals and rivers of Thailand, giving rise to this famous and beloved dish, which is basically a beef or pork and rice noodle soup with a rich, aromatic spicy broth.

China Town (Yaowarat)

Impossible to forget about the iconic street food scene of Bangkok’s China Town, where you can try everything from Toasted Buns to uber-fresh seafood, “kuay jab” (peppery soup with rolled rice noodles) and more. When night falls, the streets of Chinatown, more specifically Yaowarat, light up and are lined up with street stalls that serve delicious dishes of all kinds. For those with a sweet tooth, Yaowarat Delicious Bread ranks on top of the list of all dessert stalls here – this place serves fluffy grilled bread that comes stuffed to the brim with fillings so satisfying, that you can’t help but to order more than one.

Yong He Dou Jiang

Founded in 1999, Yong He Dou Jiang is famous for its authentic soy milk and Taiwanese food staples, including spicy beef noodle soup, xiao long bao, crispy pan-fried dumplings, and fried rice with egg and XO sauce. Just a 5-minute walk from the Pullman G Hotel, it’s perfect for when you want a casual feast on a budget! Don’t miss their soy milk – made purely from soybeans, with no added starch, it’s available in 2 flavours: original and black sesame soy milk.

Mango Sticky Rice

Not a place but a dish – no trip to Bangkok would be complete without a stop for a traditional combo of sweet, ripe mango and savory, coconut-flavored sticky rice. Ask anyone in the world about Thai cuisine, and the conversation is likely to turn to the kingdom’s ripe mangoes: aromatic and golden, likely paired with a mound of sticky rice topped with coconut cream. Indeed, the local dessert “khao niew mamuang” now enjoys global popularity, in keeping with mangoes’ reputation as the most sought-after fruit in the world.

Mango Sticky Rice | Street food in Bangkok

Though Late March through July is the peak season for mangoes in Thailand, they can easily be found – and enjoyed! – all year round. One of the best places you can get mango sticky rice is at Mae Varee’s Fruit Shop in Thonglor. This shop has been around for about 20 years and their mango sticky rice always hits the spot! The mangoes used are of excellent quality with just the right sweetness and juiciness.

Note: they only do take away.

If all this hasn’t got you craving authentic Thai food yet, nothing else will! If you’ve got your sights set on the Big Mango for your next foodie trip, make sure to check out Pullman Bangkok Hotel G’s Unpeel the Big Mango package, inclusive of local mango treats for you to snack on and sweeten your stay! HOTELS G: IT’S ALL IN THE DESIGNS

July 9, 2021
Posted by: Hotels G

In partnership with Qanvast

With custom-designed properties around the world, award-winning lifestyle brand Hotels G can definitely serve as inspiration if you’re looking to update your home’s interior design. We spoke with the experts at Qanvast for some tips and tricks on how to replicate certain design features and themes used throughout the different Hotels G destinations for your own home.

European

Bright and modern with a distinctly European flair, Residence G Shenzhen exudes understated elegance. All in-room paintings were specially commissioned for Residence G Shenzhen by artists from Dafen Artist Village. Tastefully furnished, all apartments feature a light colour scheme and wooden tones combined with plenty of natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, creating inviting spaces to live in.

Qanvast tips to replicate the look at home: Full of old-world charm, European-style homes are often a mix of contemporary and traditional design elements. To get the same look, opt for wainscoting, mirrors, neutral tones and brass accents for a more luxurious feel.

Eclectic

Quirky, artsy and playful, yet celebrating local culture, Hotel G Yangon’s interior design is decidedly in-vogue and inviting, with a youthful touch. Featuring exposed brickwork, wooden and suede furniture in contrast with vividly coloured walls and striking artwork, it represents the perfect mix between contemporary lifestyle and the traditions of Myanmar.

Hotel G Yangon Interior Design

Qanvast tips to replicate the look at home: For the bold and adventurous, or when white-and-wood look homes simply just don’t cut it, try the eclectic design style instead! Rather than opting for traditionally white hues, try vivid shades (such as emerald and royal blue) that can instantly up your feature wall game. Take a page out of this 3-room resale HDB, from the orange fridge to the emerald green walls and black-and-white graphic tiles.

Industrial

Achieving a fair balance of masculinity and femininity isn’t too hard, as evidenced at Hotel G San Francisco. A strikingly industrial yet cosy look is created by mixing different shades and materials, from masculine tones of gray using raw concrete, to plush velvet sofas and dark wood, adding an interesting juxtaposition with more feminine features like white marble slabs and brass details. The penthouse suite as featured in the image was a finalist in Surface magazine’s Best Hotel Suite 2019. It was designed by renowned Icelandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, principal of Gulla Jónsdóttir Architecture and Design, a design studio based in Los Angeles.

Qanvast tips to replicate the look at home: The industrial, dark contemporary look has been trending lately and it’s easy to see why. Here are a few hallmarks of this stylish design style: clean vertical lines, chrome finishes, concrete elements and furniture with narrow legs.

Minimal

All-white interiors can make any space look and feel bigger, lighter and brighter, as well as give it a relaxing atmosphere and a sensation of calm and purity. The G Deluxe rooms at Pullman Hotel G Bangkok are a minimalist’s dream, allowing guests to fully unwind and admire the city views from the panoramic window.
Tip: All-white interiors can be made more interesting by using various textures – marble, wood or metal. Simply add small pops of colour from tastefully placed furniture and decor items in each room.

Qanvast tips to replicate the look at home: While predominantly white homes indeed tend to look bigger, if not done right, they can also appear too sterile. Balance it out with various textures (think wood, rattan, marble) to add an organic touch.

Bonus tip: don’t hesitate to experiment with statement pieces and feature walls!

If you have had a chance to stay at Hotels G, be it Hotel G Singapore or Pullman Hotel G Bangkok, you may have noticed a black and white ‘Lady G’ hanging portrait of a classy lady dressed in fur. Statement pieces like this signature ‘Lady G’ are great to incorporate into homes, to add a touch of personality.
Tip: Introducing art pieces in your home serves as a conversation starter and is a great way to create a focal point from unused wall space.

Qanvast tips to replicate the look at home: More than just decor, art pieces can also serve as key elements to convey the homeowners’ personality, as well as educate guests on history, culture, travels… you name it. Apart from just displaying paintings and framed pieces, the owners of this BTO took things one step further with a gorgeous, full-height botanical wallpaper.

Underrated shopping places in Bangkok

May 10, 2021
Posted by: Hotels G

A shopping paradise in the Asia Pacific region, Bangkok boasts numerous luxurious and beautifully designed shopping malls where tourists and locals alike oftentimes flock to on the weekend for a shopping spree. But unbeknownst to many, the City of Angels is also home to a large and diverse vintage shopping scene worth exploring. Read on to discover some of the best vintage shops in Bangkok.

From luxury vintage labels, to Japanese secondhand stores, Thai handicraft, ladies’ fashion, vintage furniture stores, vintage jewelry & accessories stores and so much more, one can easily get overwhelmed by the myriad of boutiques, markets and vintage shops Bangkok has to offer.

In the current times, when sustainability is at the center of some major societal and environmental discussions, vintage or second-hand shopping while enjoying the beauty and history background of bygone areas makes perfect sense.

There is nothing more satisfying than finding rare or collectible items when browsing a large collection vintage items. Yet, as a general rule before you do so, expect to spend few hours in a warm place with little air ventilation, overflowing with so many items all over the place, that may have not been cleaned in a while. Imagine Ali Baba’s cave of wonders, sometimes messier and slightly dirtier.

So, in order to prepare you for such an exciting adventure and before proceeding with the awaited list of our top vintage stores, here are some tips to keep in mind when visiting such places, especially flea markets:

  • Take plenty of cash with you as most of these places to not accept debit/credit cards.
  • Bring water, maybe a fan to stay hydrated and not suffocate.

Beware of items that would give you a hard time to fix or repair, which might cost you more than what you paid for.

ATT19 Antique Warehouse

A rather recent addition to Charoengkrung district, ATT19 was a 120-year-old school transformed into a stunning multi-level and multi-purpose art hub spanning 2,000 square meters. On the ground floor, you will find a covered courtyard dedicated to retail from Japanese ceramics, to vintage designer clothing, Asian antique furniture and various rotating handmade decor pieces. The space on the second floor used to be an exhibition space welcoming artists from around the globe. Whether you are an antique connoisseur or a curious about vintage items, you will certainly not fail to admire the beautiful architecture of exposed teak ceilings, century-old tapestries adorning the whitewashed walls contrasting with the concrete flooring, all basking in an abundance of natural daylight. Reason enough for us to visit ATT19!

Address: ATT 19, 19 Charoenkrung Soi 30, Bangkok, Thailand

Note: Please contact ATT19 directly for opening hours and more details about art exhibitions.

Comprising of 60 or so shops, you will be able to find antique alcohol such as whiskey, Thai-Chinese signboards of old shophouses, and antique furniture, home decoration items, books, chinaware and many other vintage items, all reasonably priced. Local Thai artists also display their works there. And if that’s not enough, don’t forget to take a stroll in the surrounding streets as there are more vintage markets and shops in the vicinity.

Address: Kamphaeng Phet 2 Rd, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900

Papaya Design Furniture and Studio

Another impressive warehouse located in the suburbs of Bangkok, Papaya is definitely worth a visit. More than your regular antique furniture store, this museum-like warehouse overflows with so many antiques the owner, Mr. Tong has been collecting for decades. Hence, don’t be surprised if some of them are not even for sale! Be ready to reminisce your childhood with an impressive display of toys, but as you will progress in this maze of walls and shelves that is the first room, you will then reach the 3-story-high open space akin to the true Ali Baba’s cave of treasures – at least in our humble opinion. And Papaya Studio won’t disappoint; from vintage memorabilia and antique furniture to lanterns and light fixtures, arcade machines, Vespa bikes, home décor, art pieces and much more… needless to say, one can easily spend hours browsing all these wonders and never get enough. Our tip? If you really like an item, make sure you can find it by taking a picture for reference or ensure you remember where exactly it is located. Oh, and did we mention there are 3 floors?

Address: 306/1 Soi Lat Phrao, Phlabphla, Wang Thonglang, Bangkok 10310, Thailand
Opening hours: Daily from 9am to 6.30pm

Rod Fai Night Market

The authentic open-air vintage market was originally located next to the train tracks behind Chatuchak market and moved in 2013 to Srinakarin Soi 51, behind Seacon Square Shopping Mall, easily accessible by taxi and BTS. A 2nd and newer train market opened in 2015 only a few minutes’ walk from Thailand Cultural Centre MTR, but on a much smaller scale. Hence, we will focus on the original Rod Fai marketing. Divided into 3 main areas, Market Zone’, ‘Warehouse Zone’ and ‘Rod’s Antiques’, you can find everyday products from the market Zone comprising of 2000 stalls, vintage household goods, appliances and fashion items from the Warehouse Zone while the rare and pricier antiques can be found at Rod’s Antiques building. Why do we like Rod Fai night market so much? Aside from the vintage shopping aspect, the street food scene and surrounding rows of bars and restaurants make it a unique experience with its artsy vibes, retro products and yummy snacks to enjoy.

Address: 51 Srinagarindra Road, Nong Bon, Prawet, Bangkok 10250, Thailand
Opening hours: Thursday–Sunday from 5pm to 1am (closed Monday–Wednesday)

Pattaya’s best beaches and water sports

April 19, 2021
Posted by: Hotels G

Thailand is well-known for its picturesque islands, tropical beaches and palm trees. The closest major beach to the capital is located in the coastal city of Pattaya, which is part of the Chonburi Metropolitan area, located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and only a 2-hour drive from Bangkok.

While Pattaya is recognized as a party destination, it is also popular with couples and families looking for an easy and relaxing getaway filled with exciting sights and fun activities, ranging from cultural activities, water parks, and ocean aquariums, to golf clubs, watersports and more.

Ready to explore Pattaya’s vibrant attractions or get some adrenaline? Then scroll down and take your pick.

UNDERWATER EXPLORATION

Snorkeling, Scuba and Wreck diving are one of the most popular attractions to explore the underwater marine life of the Thai Gulf. Pattaya offers a few dive areas from only 6 km away, around Pattaya’s islands such as Koh Larn, Koh Sak and Koh Khrok, and slighly further afield, Koh Rin and Koh Phai. Every dive or snorkel trip is a unique experience, and the Thai Gulf is the right place to look out for sea turtles, different species of shrimps and coral reefs teeming with colourful tropical fish.

FLYING HIGH

Why not take your seaside vacation to new heights? Try Flyboarding or parasailing, one of the most exciting must-try activities for the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Flyboarding is a relatively new water sport that is very quick to learn and the main thing to master is how to maintain your balance. Parasailing on the other hand, consists in parachuting whilst being towed to a boat, essentially flying through the air like a kite. Both activities are extremely popular in Pattaya, and it is easy to find a certified company with English-speaking instructors to guide you through the experience. Or simply head to any beach at golden hour and follow the parachute’s starting point!

WATERSPORTS

Water sports are always fun-filled and there are plenty of ways to enjoy the deep blue water and get a thrill of adrenaline in Pattaya.

Wakeboarding – surfing while being pulled along by a high-speed boat.
Sailing– using wind to power sails and propel the boat forward on the surface of the water.
Windsurfing– elements of surfing and sailing, moving with the waves to control the board and at the same time managing the sail according to the winds.
Kitesurfing– a small surfboard or wakeboard which is pulled by a kite.

For the ultimate family fun that everyone can enjoy, Pattaya also offers jet ski and banana boat rides.

BEST BEACHES

There are 3 main beaches in Pattaya: Jomtien, Pattaya beach and Naklua.

Pullman Pattaya Hotel G is located in Naklua, which is known for being one of the best beaches in Pattaya. It has a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere and makes for a perfect home-base during your seaside getaway.

Discover our Foodiecation Package and stay in our sea-view Deluxe Room at THB 3,000 net per room per night, including breakfast for 2 persons, 2 tropical welcome drinks and complimentary dining credits of THB 1,500 net to be used at The Beach Club!

With so many ways to stay entertained during your vacation, you’re guaranteed to have an enjoyable trip, whether you opt for more relaxing activities or more energizing pursuits. But all the water sports and adventures available to choose from, whether on-water, in-water, or under-water are experiences to cherish, that will surely help you create memories that will last a lifetime!

Love shrines to explore in Bangkok

March 8, 2021
Posted by: Hotels G

The wedding season is upon us! In truth, any month is great to get wed – and if you're looking for a wedding venue in Bangkok, don’t forget to check out Pullman Bangkok Hotel G’s amazing wedding and pre-wedding packages here – especially if you are planning to celebrate it indoors while still being able to witness incredible sunset views over the City of Angels.

Whilst we're on the topic of love - Bangkok is renowned for its numerous beautiful temples and shrines, but did you know that several of these are actually famed for bringing luck and particularly love?

If you’re single and waiting to be struck by cupid’s arrow, or just want to explore some local folklore and cultural sites, we have listed the most recommended places in Bangkok where you can go pray for love. Whether you're superstitious or not, these beautiful landmarks are worth a visit!

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple

Hindu temple Bangkok Silom

Located on Silom road, one of the most famous places in Bangkok to pray for finding love is Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, also known as Phra Uma Devi at Wat Khaek (or simply Indian Temple). According to popular belief, Uma Devi or Parvati is the wife of Shiva and she is the Hindu goddess of fertility, love, marriage and devotion. Many single ladies and gents who come to pray here actually go on to find their true soul mate!

Tip: prayer offerings such as flowers, milk, fruits, and Indian sweets all are available around the temple area.

Trimurti shrine at Central World

Central World Love Shrine Bangkok

When Thais talk about Central World, one of the things that always comes up to mind – aside from the shopping aspect – is the Trimurti Shrine, which is known as Bangkok’s Shrine of Love. Originally, the Trimurti god in Hinduism is the triad of the three gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, and represented by a single form with three faces. While the original shrine lies in Ayutthaya, legend has it that the Trimurtri replica situated in front of the Central World is actually five-headed Shiva, but it is still called Trimurti.

People come to offer red roses in front of Trimurti Shrine in the hope that they’ll meet their soul mate, or there are even couples that come together to pray for a happily ever after love life. For singles wishing for true love, or couples looking to deepen their relationship, here’s the way to proceed:

  • Prepare 9 red roses or a rose flower garland
  • 9 red incense sticks
  • One red candle (for a single person) two red candles (for a couple)
  • Sit in front of the shrine and say the Khata prayer which is written on a stone below the shrine. Then offer the roses to the Trimurti god and put the candle and incense sticks in the pot.

Tip: For best results, the luckiest time is said to be on Thursdays at 9:30PM. Some people tend to wear red clothes too.

Chao Mae Pradu Shrine

Bangkok Chinatown Shrine

Another famed place to receive blessings for love is Bangkok’s famous China Town. Chao Mae Pradu Shrine is located in the old Yaowarat market and it is over 170 years old. The place is highly recommended by TV shows and fortune-tellers, especially for the single ladies out there who want to find their prince charming. The good thing about praying in Yaowarat is that you are a short walk away from all the best street food in Bangkok!

Tip: To pay your respects here the proper way, you’ll need 45 incense sticks, 1 red candle and 5 kinds of sweet fruits.

Reclining Buddha, Wat Pho

Wat Pho Bangkok reclining Buddha

Wat Pho, or the Reclining Buddha is not only a place of pilgrimage for devout Buddhists, but also a very special temple for single women of 30+ years old, for several reasons. The number 3, which has a special meaning in Buddhism – representing the Three Jewels among others – is also considered to be a magic number when it comes to love, being a number for love affirmation, which ensures that love will take place in your life in the near future. Hence, many believe that single ladies in their thirties will rapidly find their soulmate and even get married if they pray there!

To worship the reclining Buddha, prepare the following items:

  1. 3 portions of Kanom Jeen (rice vermicelli), with fish sauce
  2. 8 incense flowers
  3. 8 coloured candle holders
  4. 8 lotus flowers
  5. 8 bahts in coins

Once your prayers have been fulfilled and your wish to find your soul mate has come true, the next step might be getting started with your preparations to tie the knot!

When the time is right, make sure you find the perfect place to celebrate your special event. Pullman Bangkok Hotel G offers wedding packages at several iconic venues including the top floor Ballroom with panoramic views over Bangkok’s dramatic skyline, Scarlett rooftop restaurant and more intimate venues combined with professional services to ensure your wedding marks the beginning of your forever journey just the way you envision it.
